Day 1 – Barcelona > New York
Arrival at Barcelona airport where we will meet our guide and the rest of the group. Departure of the direct flight to New York. Arrival and transfer to the hotel in the city centre.
Day 2 – Lower Manhattan
Breakfast. We will spend the whole morning visiting Lower Manhattan with a local guide. We will start our tour by walking down the famous Fifth Avenue to the Flatiron Building and continue south of the city to Wall Street. We will continue our tour to Ground Zero to see the new urban development and the memorial to the victims of 9/11. We will continue to Battery Park, where we will see the famous Statue of Liberty. We will finish the morning at One Word Observatory, the observation deck of the new Word Trade Center.
Rest of the day at leisure.
Day 3 – New York > Bronx > Queens > Brooklyn
Breakfast. We will start the day in the Bronx, the centre of New York’s underground culture. During the tour we will see the New York Yankees stadium, we will get close to the Bonnxville mansions and we will get to know the environment where musical styles such as hip-hop and rap were born.
Continue to Queens, the epicentre of jazz in the 1940s. During the tour we will see the Mets baseball stadium, the National Tennis Stadium and the famous Flushing Meadows Park.
Finally, we arrive in the city’s most famous borough, Brooklyn. We will end the tour at the foot of the famous Brooklyn Bridge to admire the Manhattan Skyline.
Rest of the afternoon free.
Day 4 – New York > Meatpacking > Soho
Breakfast. We will travel around New York by public transport, the mode of transport used by millions of New Yorkers every day. We will take the underground to West Chelsea, where we will see the curious High Line Park and the Meatpacking district, now one of New York’s trendiest neighbourhoods.
In the afternoon, with our guide, we will take a stroll through Soho, one of the most bohemian districts of the city.
Accommodation.
Day 5 – New York > Upper Manhattan > Harlem
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, visit of Upper Manhattan. During the tour we will see Columbia University and the Dakota Building, where John Lennon was assassinated, and we will approach Lincoln Center. We will end the tour in the famous Harlem neighbourhood, the centre of African-American culture in New York. To conclude our visit we will attend a Gospel Mass.
Rest of the afternoon visit of the Christmas market with our guide.
Day 6 – New York > Washington (Optional)
Breakfast. Free time for sightseeing or optional full day excursion to Washington.
Day 7 – New York > Barcelona
Breakfast. We will have free time to rest at the hotel, morning shopping or other activities. At the agreed time, transfer to the airport to take the flight back to Barcelona.
Overnight on board.
Day 8 – Barcelona
Arrival early in the morning and end of the trip.
